Last week at BBT we talked about how much we love God. I hope you know how much He loves you. We talked about how we are to be preparing for his coming. He has promised he will be back but no one knows when. We are to be about his business of sharing the gospel, we are to wait patiently with faith and hope in our hearts. It will not always be easy but it will always be good.
This week I want to talk about what we need to turn this nation back to God. This week there will be a debate with the Republican nominees. They will discuss many things but I doubt they will even mention the moral condition of this country. I looked up several statistics that will surprise you about this great nation. I will share them with you on Sunday. God has not turned his back on us. We have quit listing, quit seeking his face, and quit choosing him over the things of this world. God wants us to fight to bring back his Glory. We can no longer just sit back and let someone else do it, God wants us, the members of BBT to stand up and be counted. In the book of Judges God is showing Gideon how to be victorious in spite of the odds. In Judges the 7Th chapter God sends out the army of Israel to fight the Midianites who were over 135,000 strong. God shows how he is to eventually defeat this army with three hundred dedicated and committed men. God wanted to show Gideon, and to show us it is not the number of men and women that matter, it is there commitment. God does not need big numbers to do great things. As small as we are we can make a difference if we are willing to commit our lives to bring about change. Gideon and his men defeated this huge army with out shooting a single arrow or with out throwing a single spear, they just did what God told them to do and the enemy fled. They were ready to die for their God but God had other plans. Are we willing to do what God calls us to do or will we be like the members of Gideon’s army that were afraid or were not prepared to fight and were sent home. They did not see the power of God and they were not part of the victory. I hope you will be with us on Sunday as we prepare to be a committed part of God’s army at BBT.
We learned this week that Ruth’s sister was involved in an auto accident and her car was totaled. Mary Ellen was hurt but it could have been much worse. We thank God that she was not seriously hurt. Keep her and Ruth in your prayers. Please continue to pray for this ministry because I know God wants to do great things with this small group of people. We appreciate all you do for this ministry and God can’t wait to see what more you can do. I hope you have a great week and I hope you find someone to share your faith with this week. Faith is like good news it is always better when you share it. We will see you Sunday!!
We love you so much,
Pastor David & Pris
