Sunday July 5, 2015 (Are we really Indenpendent?)

Last week we celebrated the life of Francis Guerrera.  What a dear, sweet and faithful women she was.  Faithful is what God is looking for in all of us, she was an excellent example.

This week we celebrate the 4Th of July. Half the year is already passed, and we have so much to look forward to.  This week we are going to have a spaghetti dinner after our service. What better way to celebrate our independence then with Italian dinner?  I am going to speak on our role as a church in this modern day society. The scripture verses are found in Acts 2:40-47. On our celebration of independence we all want to be independent, to stand on our on, to not need assistance from anyone. That is not what we need when it comes to our Christian walk.  We will always need God to sustain us and lead us and we will always need each other.  Independence is what everyone wants but life is cruel and at sometime or another you will fall or fail.  Where will you go?  When it comes to spiritual things God established the Church to be a place where people can come and get help.  Are we that kind of church? Are we the kind of people that are willing to help each other? Thankfully I can say yes to BBT because I know the kind of people who are part of this ministry.  I know how we depend on God and how God has given us the gift of counsel. I hope you will join us on Sunday as we find new ways to be even better.  We will also honor our newest member into our Ring of Honor for July. Please be here Sunday and invite someone else with you as we worship and fellowship on this Independent weekend.

Please pray for Pris as she flys out for Mexico on Friday morning as she vacations with the Preza family. We did not have prayer request last week due to the memorial service but if you know a need bring it to me and let’s pray together. Remember to be there for those that need you even if it is just to listen.  I look forward to seeing you on Sunday and have a great and safe 4Th of July.  We will see you on Sunday!

We love you so much,

Pastor David & Pris
