Greetings followers of BBT. It was a very small group last week at church but hopefully things will be back to normal. Linda brought an excellent lesson on it is time for us to wake up and start getting busy. Our church our city and our country needs us as Christians to stand up and be counted. If you were not there, and many of you were not, I hope you will listen to both pod cast of Linda’s lesson and Larry’s message. Larry reminded us that remembering things are very important to Christ. He has done many things he wants us to keep in our hearts and minds so we can remember how much he has done for us. On this memorial Sunday Larry reminded us not only to remember what all the soldiers who have died in defending our freedom but we need to remember what God has sacrificed for our salvation. It was a very moving service.
As we start a new month this Sunday I can’t help but feel overwhelmed. I am concerned that there seem to be fewer and fewer in Church each Sunday and I am afraid we have lost some of the excitement to be in God’s house. I guess that falls on me but I hope you will hang in there because I know God has great things for this ministry. It seems like everything that could go wrong has gone wrong lately. I was reading in Matthew this week and I identified with the lady in Chapter 15 who came to Jesus to ask him to heal her daughter. Both I and Pris have been praying for Kim for 2 months as she battled with this infection in her leg. Seems the more we pray the worst it gets, then Pris’s mom falls and breaks her hip. Her Dad is dying and we are trying to figure out how to get both Glen and Mary back to Dallas. It seems like Jesus is not listing! In this story as the mother appeals to Jesus it says in verse 23 that Jesus did not answer her a word. We need to realize that sometimes Jesus does not say anything. It does not mean he does not care or that he is not listing, it means He is allowing us to demonstrate our faith. Jesus knows what we need even before we asks but sometimes he wants us to trust him even when he says not a word. My family is trusting him right now that He is in control and will work this out. Does that mean we just sit back and wait, no way. Part of our Faith is being persistent and not giving up. Read Matthew 15:21-28 and see how this woman overcame every obstacle in her way to make sure her daughter was healed. There is a lesson we need to learn from these scriptures so we too can hear Jesus say Great is your faith! Be with us on Sunday as we share with you what God has given us this week to share. Invite someone to come with you Sunday and lets fellowship together.
There were several prayer request mentioned last week so I need you to be with me in lifting them up this week in your prayers. If you need to be reminded of the request, Larry has them posted on the website. We give a special thanks to Cathy and Ruth for going to the store and filling our food pantry last week. I hope you have a great week and do something good for someone this week. Please continue to pray for this ministry and we will see you on Sunday.
We love you so much,
Pastor David & Pris
