Sunday November16th, 2014 (Rejoice in spite of your circumstances)

We had a great day in Church last week and praise God we will be able to meet again this week as the renovations on the inside of the church have not started.  This means we get to be together again this week!

I am so grateful for the men and women in this church and now I can say the children as well. I appreciate how important it is to have young people worshiping with us. Larry and Linda moved there time to serve up a week because I was not sure we would be able to meet this week and they did a great job.  We as members of Bartimaeus are so lucky to have the Thacker’s as part of us.

This week I want to talk about be joyful.  We are coming up on the Thanksgiving holidays and we really need to understand what it means to be thankful.  I am preaching to myself this week because like many of us sometimes my joy comes from the things on the outside.  Money, acceptance, respect, family the list could go on and on but the truth is real Joy comes from inside and our circumstances should not determine our joy. The scripture vs for this week are in Philippians 4: 4-7.  This is a very familiar scripture to most of us but I want to look and see how Paul can rejoice with everything he is going through. His circumstances did not matter. I hope you will be in Church with us on Sunday and share your joy with the rest of us, and invite someone to come with you.

Next week we will have our Thanksgiving service, Lord willing.  We will have Harvest Oaks Church with us as they have the entire service as well as providing dinner afterwards.  This was planned twice last year but snow kept us from meeting with them on both occasions.  I can’t wait to see them again. Please keep praying for those that are hurting.  I know this is the Holiday season but there are so many people who need help in so many ways.  We can not be all things for all people but if someone wants our help lets try to meet the needs of those we can.  Keep doing good things and we will see you on Sunday!!!

We love you so much,

Pastor David & Pris
