Sunday, October 2, 2016 "Why be Shy"

It was so good to be back in Church last week.  Vacations are nice but we do miss our family at church while we are away.  Don brought his testimony during the Sunday school time. This is something I will ask others to do as well, Don did a great job. I brought a message on how we can have rest, not only physically but rest in our souls.  There were several out last week but I am hoping those that were out last week will be back this Sunday.  We have set the date for our trip to the Fair for October 12Th.  I hope we can get a large group to go.

Priscilla will be back this week and I want to speak on timidity, shyness & fear.  I am very shy in many things, my wife on the other hand never has a problem fitting in wherever she is at.  I have a hard time talking to people I don’t really know while she can talk to anybody.  I guess we both have our strengths but I truly do wish I was more like her.  But let me ask you a question is shyness a sin?  I want to show you on Sunday that it can be.  Timid shy people are some of the nicest people I know but Jesus says in 2 Timothy chapter 1 vs 7 “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. Your passage may read “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Either way God wants us to be at our best and if we are timed, afraid or shy to show the love of God to other people, it is a sin and we need God’s help to overcome it.  I hope you will join us on Sunday as we discuss the ways to overcome our shyness.  We will also honor a new member of our honored member for the month of October. I hope you will invite someone to join us as we meet at 2:30 pm.

Clark had to go back into the hospital this week to have adjustments made on his pacemaker, our prayers are with both Clark & Shelly.  Pris is moving around much better this week and she appreciated your prayers.  This Wednesday is Ruth’s 90 birthday. We will be celebrating her birthday after the service on Sunday but call her this week and wish her a Happy Birthday.  I hope to see you on Sunday as we fellowship together in a brand new month.  Do good things and I will see you on Sunday!!

We love you so much,

Pastor David & Pris
