Sunday January 10th 2016 "Thank God for second chances"

What a great Sunday at BBT last week.  It was nice to see Sarah and Nick and Cheyenne but sad to know they were heading back to Missouri this week. Our prayers are with them.  Pris shared with us her feelings on the heartbreak of the Tornado in Rowlett and encouraged us to look forward to new beginnings.  I got to interview Lisa as the latest honored member in our ring of honor.  We looked back at 2015 both the losses and the blessings, and I spoke to us about seeking Christ first in 2016. I really enjoyed seeing Karen back after a long absence.   I hope you got as much out of this service as I did.

This week I want to talk about looking at 2016 as a second chance.  The God we serve is a God of second chances.  But he is also a God that will hold us responsible for the things we do.  I Love to talk about God’s Grace and Mercy but every once in a while I need to remind us we will be held responsible for our actions.  The scripture verse this week will be in Luke 13:6-9.  This is a parable that Jesus shows how he is in heaven interceding for us every day.  We will also look at Hebrews 7:25 as it also shows how Jesus is there for us as a friend and cares for us.  In this parable the land owner was ready to chop down this fig tree but the man who cared for the vineyard asked him to give it another year and he will take special care of it and see if it will produce fruit.  Jesus does not want us to fail but we will eventually have to bear fruit or we will be cut down.  I hope you will join us Sunday and remember anyone who brings a guest to church with them Sunday, Pris and I will have a surprise for you.

Please continue to pray for those we mentioned in our prayer request on Sunday and please pray for this ministry as we launch a new year.  Remember what Cindy said last Sunday we need to get out there and be doing something! She is right we can’t sit back and let someone else do it we need to be involved.  God will bless you and you will bring forth fruit.  We will see you Sunday!

We love you so much,

Pastor David & Pris
