Greetings to the faithful followers of BBT. I hope you are doing well. Last Sunday Linda prepared her lesson by recording and she spoke to us about the priority of prayer and praying for others. It was a terrific lesson and we appreciate her efforts to bring it to us. Larry brought a wonderful message on how we should strive to be perfect just like Christ was perfect. If you try to do it on your own power you will always fall short but we have the Holy Spirit inside of us that is perfect and works through us..
I want to share with you this week a common problem we all share that keeps us from being perfect, that is discouragement. We all at some time feel discouraged. I want to talk about how we can overcome it because being discouraged is not a sin it is what we do with it that leads us to sin. Even Jesus was disappointed or discouraged but he knew his Heavenly Father was still in control and had the power to change the situation. Do we trust God that much or do we throw our hands up and give up. I want to read to you the story of a man who had demons and Jesus had to tell him to be quiet so he could cast the demons out. The lesson is in Mark 1: 21-28. In order to overcome the problems in our lives we need to be quiet and let Jesus work. Don’t allow your disappointments to cause you to give up. I hope you will join us on Sunday as we study what Isiah tells us about overcoming discouragement. We are going to see what he did to overcome all the disappointments he went through and the advice he gave to his people. It is advice we need to hear as well!
Continue to pray for those mentioned in our prayer request last week and be ready to share Sunday what it is you are discouraged about. A praise report for this week is Kimberly is feeling much better and wants to thank you for all your prayers. Invite someone to come with you on Sunday and make this week a great week by doing good things for the people you encounter. Be blessed and we will see you on Sunday!
We love you so much
