Sunday March 5th, 2017 "It pays to be Patient"

I want to thank the Terrill family for having the service last week, they make it a family affair each time they have the service.  It was nice to have Mike visiting with us again, thanks Ruth for inviting him with you

This week we begin a new month.  I cannot believe how time fly’s by the older I get.  Because time goes by so quickly sometimes I don’t take the time to enjoy life.  I will try to cram as much as I can in the time I have and sometimes I ended up frustrated and feeling like I am not getting any things done,  and I become impatient.  As I was thinking about that this week I read in Hebrews 12:1-2 how the writer talks about running with patience.  That sounds crazy doesn’t it? We run because we want to finish the race as quick as we can, what is he talking about? There are races that are sprints where go as fast as we can and there are marathons where you have to pace yourself.  We often try to live as though our lives are made of one sprint right after another when actually our life is a marathon that we just need to keep moving towards our goal.  Those who live their lives in “the fast lane” burn out and never seem to complete the race they started.  Patience is a trait that must learn because we are not born with it.  Have you ever seen a patient baby? No they want what they want and they want it right now.  Patience is a virtue that comes from God and I promise you we all could use a little more or in some cases a lot more.  Please join us Sunday as we talk about ways we can exercise patient in our lives.  We will also be honoring a new member of the moth this week.  Please invite someone to come with you as we fellowship together.

Please continue to pray for the prayer request mentioned last week especially be praying that Dee Dee finds a place to move soon.  I hope you have a great week start working on your patience and if you have something you would like to share with us on Sunday please give us your ideas on being patient.  Do something good for somebody this week and have a blessed week, see you on Sunday!

We love you so much,

Pastor David & Pris
