Sunday November 2, 2014 "Man I just can't help myself"

What a great Sunday we had joining with Pleasant Oaks Baptist last week.  They were so gracious to let us join in with their service. We had 5 members of our congregations that were baptized while we were there!

After the service we returned back to our church for lunch and watched the movie ‘Heaven is for real.”  We had a great day in fellowship with each other.

This week is the first Sunday in November. Can you believe this year is almost over? The older I get the faster time seems to fly bye.  I hope we will make the best of the time we have here on earth because we have no idea how long we have.  I wanted to speak to that this week in my sermon.  The scripture verse is in the Gospel of John the first chapter starting in vs 35 going through vs 42.  This is when Jesus is beginning to call his disciples and I want to focus us on Andrew here the brother of Simon Peter.  Andrew is so excited to have found the Messiah that he runs out and tells his brother Simon about him.  That is how we should be feeling today as well!  We should be so excited about our relationship with Christ that we just can’t help but tell others.  There are some things too good to keep silent about and being a child of the King is certainly one of them.  Why are we not as excited as Andrew was?  What is taking away the joy of our salvation?  Maybe it is the pressure of this modern day society or maybe it is our lack of confidence we have in ourselves.  What ever it is we need to get our joy back.  I want to share with you what God shared with me this week and I hope you get as much out of this as I did.  We are back to our regular time this week at 2:30, but remember to move back your clocks this week.  I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday and do someone a favor and invite them to come with you.

Please pray for this ministry every day and for its members.  God really spoke to me this week about praying for those who do not even want our prayers. There are many people lonely and confused and hurting but they do not think there is anywhere they can go to get relief.  Pastor Dwight spoke about this last week in his message on how we are suppose to pray.  We pray for our loved ones as well as our enemies. Prayer is something we can all do and there is nothing you can do that is more important then to lift up a brother or sister in prayer. Just make sure you have the right attitude when you lift your prayers to God.  God is waiting to hear from you today.

We will see you on Sunday and keep doing good things for Christ sake!!

We love you so much,

Pastor David and Pris
