Message by Larry Thacker Jr from October 12, “No Condemnation”
In the last installment of this study, we examined the second half of Romans Ch. 7. I stressed the importance of context in understanding the text. It describes the life lived according to the flesh, attempting to keep the law under our own power. This is not the life that we are meant to live as children of God. As we move into Ch. 8, we see the distinction drawn more clearly as we learn that it is impossible to please God that way. But do not be discourage.
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. (Romans 8:1-2 LSB)
