Message by Pastor David Whitmore for July 16: Remembering Galen Rich
Galen Rich passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017. We are so sad that we lost a good friend and faithful member of BBT. As I was thinking about Mr. Rich I thought about how death is something we cannot escape and I wanted to bring a message about preparing for death. I know this is not a popular topic and not something we like to think about but it is important that we understand we as Christians do not need to fear death. The scripture vs this week are in Hebrews 9:27-28. The writer of Hebrews points out in this scripture that we have an appointment with death and after death judgement but scriptures also tells us that those of us who have accepted Christ are spared from judgment. It is important that we understand as Christians that the moment we take our last breath here we draw our first breath in Heaven. That is why when we lose a love one like Mr. Rich we can rejoice even in our grief because of what Jesus did for us. It is hard to say goodbye but we rejoice that we will see our love ones again.
