Is shyness a sin?  It can be.  Paul says in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. Your passage may read “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Either way God wants us to be at our best and if we are timid, afraid or shy to show the love of God to other people, it is a sin and we need God’s help to overcome it.
