Greeting BBT followers. Now this feel like spring! Baseball is going on at the ballpark, the grass is starting to turn green and the weather is fantastic. I hope you are enjoying this as much as I am. I hope with the better weather it will encourage people to get out more especially on Sunday afternoon at about 2:30. I appreciate La Trish bringing the Sunday school lesson on Sunday. I hope you are trying to keep up with your reading each day because it makes it very difficult to try and catch up if you get behind. Last week’s Easter service was very enjoyable and it was nice to have dinner in our dinning room again. I think we need to make some changes on the table arrangements so we will have more room but it was a great dinner with great friends.
This week I am going to be preaching on John 21:1-14. This is story of Jesus appearing to the Disciples as they are back out in their boat fishing. I am going to be taliking about what does it mean to be successful. What Jesus says and what the World says are two very diffrent things. I want all of us to make a difference in this world, I want all of us to really stand for something. I would like to think my life meant something to somebody besides myself. We all should want to leave an impression on the people we meet. Not that we are so good but that we have a God that is so good. We can stand up for the values that God established for us to live by and we need to choose our hero’s carefully. It is so easy to idolize the superstar that can do what we only dream about doing, or that good looking man or woman that has so much charisma that people are drawn to them. Bur what about our parents that spend their lives meeting our needs and providing for us or how about that good friend that is always there in good times and bad. The people that are really successful in life are the ones that change our lives for the better. The ones that do what they say and care about people regardless of their circumstances. You are my hero, all of you who choose to believe God loves you no matter what the world says. I will always want my name associated with the people of Bartimeaus Baptist Temple. I hope you feel the same way.
We need to pray this week for Sarah’s mother who had a heart attack and is in a hospital in Allen. We don’t know a lot about her situation right now but we are praying for her full recovery. Jo Havens had a light stroke last week and was in Baylor hospital but she is back home now. She is still very week and needs our prayers.
Chuck Kagel and his group will be with us on Sunday the 18Th to sing for us. They were going to come the Sunday before Easter but we got snowed out. Please make plans to be at Church this week and next as we continue to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. We love you so much and miss you when you are not here. Pray for those that we have listed on the prayer request and keep doing good things for other people because as you will see Sunday that will lead to a successful life. God bless you and keep you and we will see you Sunday.
