Sunday September 4, 2011
This week is the first Sunday of September and next week is homecoming. If Jay is not able to be with us on the 11Th I will bring the message but lets not overlook this week in our excitement of next week. The scripture for this week is Matthew 18Th versus 15-20.
This is the advice Jesus gives to the Disciples on dealing with one another, especially if your brother may be in sin. There are many life lessons in just this one Chapter of Matthew and this is a great lesson we need to learn if we are going to find joy in this lifetime. How we treat others says who we are, especially how we treat others who may have hurt us in one way or another. We have a difficult time in forgiveness and pride. We seem to feel like we are supposed to be forgiven without giving forgiveness. Life is hard enough without carrying grudges and unforgiveness in our lives. How can we ask God to forgive us when we are unwilling to forgive each other? I hope we can see what Jesus wants us to see in this scripture. Please be in Church on Sunday and invite someone to come with you. This will be the final week on our class on “how to share the Gospel.” I hope you have enjoyed and learned as much as I have over the last 4 weeks. I know we will have opportunities to share this with others and the more we do it the more we will comfortable we will be in sharing our faith. I am looking forward to this last class.
Please don’t forget to pray for those that need us. Remember those that are hurting and suffering and lets try to ease their suffering by being a friend. We can simply listen and praying with them. You will be amazed how much that means to a suffering soul! We look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Share your faith this week and do good things for the people you meet. We love you all very much and will see you on Sunday.
