Blessings to you, loved ones. Here’s what’s happening this week.
I want to start out on a happy note. I talked to Priscilla today. She sounded much better and was out and about. Cindy said that she is still having some trouble but getting better. They plan to be back with us on Sunday. It was also a pleasure to see Leanne last Sunday and I hope she can keep coming back. I’m exploring some new options for spreading the word about our church. I trust the Lord will show us what we need to do. Hopefully the renovation work will really get started this week. We will be in touch if that causes any disruption to our service.
I will be continuing our exploration of the Kingdom of Heaven with the first recorded statement that Jesus makes about it, found in Matthew 5:3. He says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” I never really understood that phrase, so I enjoyed taking some time to learn what it means. In full disclosure, I’m still not quite satisfied with what I have learned, but I am convinced that the things I am going to share with you are true. I hope that you will be inspired to study it for yourself, and we can all learn from the Holy Spirit together.
There is some sad news. Brenda’s brother passed away yesterday. Pray for Brenda and her family as they grieve and figure out what needs to be done for her mother. Remember Ruth in your prayers. Cathy has not been able to get her to church for several weeks now. She is not eating well, and is often incoherent when I speak with her. Jay has shared that Jerry’ has gotten worse and his doctor has suggested the family come and see him in case he does not pull through. Keep the Gibson family in your prayers.
See you Sunday.
Love you all,
Larry
