Blessings, friends. It’s a beautiful morning! I’m so happy to be living in Texas, where one can go out in shorts in December. I pray you are all well. Know that you are on our hearts throughout the week and we pray for you often. I’m so grateful for all of you who come and miss you when you can’t.
We decided to have our Christmas celebration on the 12th of this month. It will be a little different than in the past as we’ll all bring small (no more than $10) gifts for each other. We are so grateful for the generosity of those who have provided for us in the past, but I think I like this better. The Word tells us that it’s more blessed to give than to receive. We’ll be able to do both.
This Sunday, we will cover Matthew 20:1-16. This is the story of the vineyard owner who hired workers at different times throughout the day and then paid them all the same wage even though some only worked for an hour. This is another parable that Jesus begins by saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like…” Again, He contrasts the ways of the world with the ways of the kingdom. It is a message of grace and of hope for all of us.
Y’all come! 🙂
Love,
Larry
