In Loving Memory of Don Potts
Dear family and friends, as most of you know by now, we lost Don last week due to complications following his kidney transplant surgery. He will be greatly missed, but we do not grieve as those who have no hope. We look forward to the day when we will be reunited with him and all of those who have gone before us as we worship our Lord Jesus the Christ and work together once again.
Don and Brenda both have shown us what true devotion looks like. If there was a need to be met, they were there to meet it. They have taken Jesus’ words to heart, “to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” (Matthew 25:40)
If I remember the story correctly, they were back in church the day after they were married back in 1977. They have faithfully served the church ever since. Don served as the minister of music throughout his time with us. Along the way, he also drove the bus, taught Sunday school, and mowed the lawn. He was known for his signature one-liners, which we all came to know by heart. As his health began to decline, we could tell it was not a good day when the ever-present punchlines were missing.
So, Goodbye for now, Don. We know you’ll be glad we get to see you again someday. 🙂
For those who would like to attend his services, the details are at the link below.
