Hello friends and family.  I’m sorry I took so long to get this message out.  I feel like I’ve been playing catch-up all week after spending last weekend in Fort Worth.  I am just so thankful to live in a country where we can do things like I did and we can choose our leaders.  I hope you will take that responsibility seriously this November.

This Sunday is Father’s day and I am honored to get to speak to you on this special day.  I had the blessing of a wonderful father who helped make me what I am today, but I know that there are many who didn’t have good fathers.  So, what makes a good father?  When Jesus talks about our Heavenly Father, what does it bring to your mind?

Let’s examine what a good father is like by starting with the parable we usually call the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32.  I was talking with a friend the other day and he suggested we ought to call this the story of the good father.  I think he’s right, because it is the Heavenly Father that Jesus is illustrating for us.  Come and join us on this special day when we honor our earthly fathers and most of all our Father in Heaven.
