Praise and Prayer Requests from Sunday service of March 18

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on March 19, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 6, 2017

We understand that Betty will get her teeth fixed in a couple of weeks.  We thank God for that answer to our prayers.  Pam is thankful for God’s blessings; that we are all able to be here together and that she learned a new bus route this week.  Linda is rejoicing in continued physical improvement.  She increased her treadmill time at the gym this week.

Ruth asks prayer for her sister-in-law who has been sent home from the hospital under hospice care.  Anna and Lupe are both out sick.  Ed fell and bruised his ribs some time before last Sunday.  He has wanted to come back to church but the pain has prevented him.  Pam reminds us to keep praying for Sandy’s knee to heal before her trip to Israel.

Pray also for our country and our troops serving oversees.  We have much to be thankful for regarding our nation, but we also have some serious problems that will be truly resolved only when we turn to Him.  Be blessed to be a blessing this week.  Follow Him daily.

Praise and Prayer Requests from Sunday service of March 11

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on March 12, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 6, 2017
John is thankful to wake up.  Kelly is thankful for money to sustain her.  Cindy is thankful that things went well for her daughter’s surgery.  Priscilla is thankful the little baby she was caring for had no serious injury after getting into some medicine.  Betty is glad that she came this afternoon.  Pam is praising God that she was able to reconnect with an old friend.

Pam asks prayer for her friend’s mom, Frances, who is sick. Betty needs her tooth fixed.  Lupe is down with the flu.  Pray for Kelly’s living situation.  Dede wants prayer for her cousin Tammy who has been feeling sick.  Pam wants us to pray for Sandy B.  She is going on a trip to Israel and needs her knee to heal before she leaves.  Kim goes to the doctor tomorrow to follow up on some test results.  Jana’s brother Paul is losing his eyesight.  Deborah is worried about her friend Julia who has cancer. She hasn’t been able to connect with her.

Today we learned about our responsibility before God.  I hope we will take that seriously, praying for, encouraging, and helping each other.  Be blessed to be a blessing this week.

Praise and Prayer Requests from Sunday service of March 4

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on March 5, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 6, 2017
We’re all thankful that the church is about to get some needed improvements to the building.  Pam got to see a good friend that she hadn’t seen in a long time.  She was able to pay off one of her credit cards.  Dede is thankful for life, health, and strength.  She praises God for her good friend Ginger, who asked us to pray for her.  John is blessed by being here and he blesses us with his presence.  Cindy offers praise that her missing niece was found and that her health is finally returning.  We all thank God for that answered prayer.  Pastor David and Priscilla are thankful for Kim’s improving health and for a pleasant weekend.

Anna’s mother Anastasia is back in the hospital.  Anna is with her today.  Betty wants prayer for a toothache.  We pray she can get the dental care that she needs.  Andrew asks prayer for his youngest daughter Erica who is facing the loss of her home because her husband is out of work.  Keep praying that things work out for Kelly that her needs are met long-term.  Keep praying for her sister also.  Pray for Steve Bidwell, who came and spoke at our church a while back.  His son Tracy is in critical condition with bleeding on the brain and I learned when I got home that his father passed away today.  My grandmother Lorece asked that we all pray for her health to improve so that she can get out of the house and do the things she needs to do.  She misses being able to go to church.  Cindy is going to a cardiologist tomorrow regarding a heart murmur that is thought to be the reason she has had so much trouble with her health of late.  Her daughter is having surgery later in the week.  Keep praying for Dede to be comforted in Arvella’s passing.  Remember also Leigh Kagel.  Pam is still praying for restoration of the relationship with her estranged mother.

“Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)

Prayer Requests from Sunday Service of February 26

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on February 27, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 11, 2017
I want to apologize up front if I missed any of the requests.  Due to a little accident before we left the house we were a little late.  A gust of wind flung the door to the garage and Linda’s fingers were caught in it.  Pray that they heal quickly.  No major damage appears to have resulted.

Cindy is still sick and was in the hospital with pneumonia.  Keep praying for the Small family.  Kathy has three friends who need healing.  I didn’t get the details.  Keep praying for Benny’s heart condition.  Kelly is going to have to find a new place to live by Thursday.  Keep Kim in your prayers as she heals and makes choices about her life.  Pray for Priscilla’s father, Glenn, who is suffering chest pain and is in generally poor health.

Praise and Prayer Requests from Sunday service of February 19

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on February 20, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 11, 2017
Pastor David was not with us today because he had to go to the doctor with trouble breathing and a 104 degree temperature.  The latest word as of this writing is that he may have pneumonia and does have bronchitis.

Tim is thankful that he got new clothes and a good place to live.  He wants us to pray for the physical and emotional health of the people who live with him.  Don’s son-in-law Doug is making an emergency trip overseas.  Don would like for us to pray for his safety.  Glenn is in California getting training for his new job.  Betty has bad toothache and is having some trouble with someone where she lives.  Sandra thanks us for our prayers while she was in the hospital.  She is improving.  John’s glad to be alive.  Pam praises God that she is able to live independently.  She wants us to pray for her friend Sharron who has stage-4 cancer.  She also asks prayer for her eye trouble.  Ruth asks us to pray for her friend Nancy, who was in the hospital with pneumonia and is now home but still has blood clots in her lungs.  Teresa wants prayer for her family.  Dede asks prayer for her household and for her eyes.  Linda offers praise for a chat she had with someone who lost an arm.  She was able to share something of how God can use him as he is through her own story.  Francis prays for her daughter and grandson.

Be blessed to be a blessing this week.

Praise and Prayer Requests from Sunday service of February 12

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on February 13, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 11, 2017

There were lots of praise reports this week.  Kim is back home and getting better.  Ruth says she got a good report from her doctor on her eyes.  She said the doctor was praying for her too.  Kelly says her leg is getting stronger.  Betty, Teresa, Jana, and John are all just thanking God to be here.  Pam thanks everyone for praying for conditions where she lives.  She got a new floor and other people got improvements to their homes as well.  Jana is thankful for peace in her home this week.  Teresa is glad that her dad has retired and is able to spend time with her.  Tim is thankful that he now has a good place to live.

Sandra is at Baylor in Irving.  We don’t have a lot of details but she said she was having seizures several times a day.  Keep praying for Kim.  Anna asked prayer for her mother Anastasia who has been very sick after each dialysis treatment.  Deborah prays for her friend Julia who has cancer and is on oral and IV chemotherapy.  It is making her sick.  Chuck is in a nursing facility with an infection.  The danger is that it could spread to his brain and become fatal. Pray for him and his family.  Betty has a broken tooth and is in pain.

Let’s keep all of these in our prayers this week and make an effort to encourage each other.  Be blessed to be a blessing.

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on January 30, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 22, 2017
today we all prayed together for Kim.  Let’s continue to do that this week and pray for all of the family.  Let us be the church that God means for us to be, and remember that life is precious.

Praise and Prayer Requests from Sunday service of January 22

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on January 23, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 22, 2017
April is thankful for the Lord’s wisdom in her marriage plans.  She is also thankful that she got her computer equipment repaired.  Brenda is thankful that we’re all here and able to celebrate Cheyenne’s birthday today.  Shane rejoices in the goodness of God.  Teresa is thankful for family and friends.  Anita is thankful for the blessings of God in difficult times.  John and Betty are just glad to be here.

Kelly prays for strength to walk and for her sister Shelly.  I would like for us to keep praying for Sharron, the wife of David who works with me.  She will need surgery to remove a brain tumor.  Priscilla asks that we pray for Gloria, sister of someone she works with who is also dealing with a brain tumor.  Pray for me also.  I am still hurting from my little spill last Sunday.    April asks prayer for her home and family situation.  Don asks prayer for Mark, a coworker who is now in need of a kidney transplant.  Cindy prays for quick recovery from bronchitis.  Dede asks prayer for a relative, Paul, who has health problems.  She wants us to keep praying for her eyes and household.

Finally, we’ll be posting a special thank-you to them separately, but we are thanking the Lord for a new digital projector generously donated to the church by Joel and Dayna Tolley today.  We’ll be putting it right to work.

Be blessed to be a blessing this week.

Pray for Sharron

Bartimaeus Baptist Temple Posted on January 19, 2012 by Bart The BotNovember 22, 2017

I’m asking the church to pray for the wife of a man that works with me.  This is part of the email he sent to a few of us today.  Later he told me he was taking her to the ER.  That’s all I know at this time.

Sharron is going to need some form of brain surgery soon. We will not know the full scope until after they do an MRI. It is in the process of being scheduled now.   A CAT scan done on Monday showed a mass 1.4 by 1.4 on the front part of the brain. From the cat scan they cannot tell what kind it is nor if its within the brain tissue or is between the skull and brain.
